Description
The Panoramic Battlements are open to the public for independent visits, without the need to book a guided tour, upon purchase of an admission ticket.
The battlements formed the patrol walkway used by the soldiers of the Sforza Castle, which during the rule of the Sforza family was a military fortress as well as the ducal residence.
Access is via the staircase in the Rocchetta Courtyard up to the top floor of the Treasury Tower. From there, the route continues along the three sides of the Rocchetta — the most inaccessible part of the Sforza Castle.
This evocative path allows visitors to discover the defensive system and the hidden charm of the Castle, as well as to admire the city skyline from multiple viewpoints: from this privileged position it is possible to see the entire city while also gaining an understanding of the complex and fascinating structure of the Sforza Castle.
